Thomas Gorgas, founder of AMAKUA VIDEO, is an award-winning videographer and producer of documentaries and educational videos. With a PhD in Geology and Geophysics from the University of Hawaii he travels extensively around the world, and thereby meets many interesting people who work on “bleeding edge” projects.

Since 2007 AMAKUA VIDEO focuses in particular on:

- Empowering kids through “out of the box”, hands-on learning experiences and technology (for example “Hawaii Underwater Robotic Challenge - HURC”, “Baby Hammerhead Shark Tagging, Hawaii”, and “The Chinese Language Immersion Program”).

2) Environmental Topics

- AMAKUA VIDEO supports and collaborates with “Save Our Seas, a marine education and conservation organization on Kauai. AMAKUA VIDEO offers a percentage of proceeds and video services to Save Our Seas.

3) Health & Fitness:

3a) UV-Protection with Geckoline, Germany, an expert in high-performance sportswear.

3b) Aquatic Fitness: Former National Windsurfing Champion and certified aquatic fitness coach Tawney Lee demonstrates tricks & tips on our “Maui AquaFit DVD”.

Inspired by Tawney’s amazing water aerobics program Amakua Video and partner firm Strategic Living, Inc., San Diego started a new campaign called Get Fit With Aloha that further promotes physical and mental wellness. We constantly seek and create new products for you, plus offer insider tips from experts, such as Tawney Lee on Maui, Reinhold Humbold, from Germany (3-time IRONMAN Champion Age Group 55-59), and others.
